Before Aegon's Conquest, the Falls was a matriarchal society, however after the Conquest, the Falls quickly fell in line with patriarchal societies. Many of them fall along the borders, making it risky for invaders. Like its name suggests, waterfalls are prevalent in the Falls.
The Falls' northern border is the North, its eastern border is the Riverlands, its western border is the Sunset Sea, and its southern border is the Westerlands. House Spyre has been the Warden of the Falls since the Aegon's Conquest and before then used to be Queens of the Falls.
